FYI: Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park was voted as UNESCO Heritage in 1999; voted as new Seven Wonders of Nature in 2012, Ramsar Wetland Site in 2012. Habitat for Biodiversity conservation. Flows directly to the sea. This park features a Limestone Karst Landscape with underground river. Located in Saint Paul Mountain Range in western coast of the island of Palawan about 80 kilometre north of the city. Interestingly, in 2013, The Amazing Race was aired in this location.
It was an one flight from Manila International Airport to Palawan Airport & a Taxi ride to our Hotel named ‘The Legend Palawan’ with 4 days accommodation, with daily breakfast included. A day or two tour was available in this hotel and choose where you want to go. First, we took a day tour full package includes (entrance ticket & luncheon) to The Underground Subterranean River of Puerto Princesa in the Island of Palawan, Philippines. Our first boat ride took about 45 minutes, then a short stopover briefing us as what to expect to see, to protect, to respect the environment & to enjoy our visit to the fullest. After short briefing, a group of six people were transported into small boat which will take you inside the cave. We were provided an Audio Recorded Gadget with earphone. Making noise was prohibited like talking & whispering to avoid distracting BATS inside the cave. Also, a head protective gear was provided to protect us from any falling debris. While inside the cave, the flashing holding by the stuff which navigated the area was the only source of light we had which bright enough to take some unforgettable photos/ videos for souvenirs.
I do recommend this experience 100% to everyone, a must to visit place in Palawan. Philippines. Palawan is a touristic city, safe to visit, friendly & clean environment.
