Army News, Fort Hood, Texas, July 23, 2020: Troopers assigned to 3rd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, are the very first in the U.S. Army to receive the newest version of the Abrams Main Battle Tank, the M1A2 SEPV3 (System Enhancement Program Version 3).
This new version comes with multiple upgrades including improved radio system, improved third gen forward-looking infrared targeting, improved 120mm ammunition, and the addition of camera enhanced Common Remotely Operated Weapon System (CROWS) - offering a 300%+ larger scene in wide field of view.
