Toyota recently upgraded its Crown model by introducing a new special edition known as the Landscape, specifically designed for the Japanese market. This edition, which is part of the Crown Crossover lineup, caters primarily to individuals who love outdoor adventures by offering enhanced off-road capabilities. The most notable feature of the Landscape is its raised ground clearance, now 1 inch higher, making it more suited for challenging terrains.
The vehicle is equipped with 18-inch wheels that feature a two-tone design, and these wheels are fitted with all-terrain tires sized at 245/60 R18. Adding to its rugged appearance are red mud flaps located behind the wheels, and for added durability, the wheel arches are adorned with extra cladding that boasts a matte finish. Interestingly, the over-fenders receive a touch of exclusivity with hand painting. An additional practical feature is a towing hitch at the rear, allowing the car to tow loads up to 1,653 pounds.
In terms of aesthetics, the Crown Crossover Landscape sports a unique Urban Khaki paint complemented by black details, and it includes a rear fog light that's conveniently situated next to the license plate area. While the roof rack adds to the vehicle's functionality, it remains an optional feature that buyers can choose to have installed at a dealership. Inside, the car showcases a glossy black trim and features a laser engraving of the model name on the passenger side of the dashboard, enhancing its exclusive feel.
This special edition is available solely with an all-wheel-drive configuration, powered by a 2.4-liter hybrid engine. Priced at approximately $45,300 in Japan, the Crown Crossover Landscape joins three other Crown-branded models available in the Japanese market: the smaller Crown Sport crossover, the larger Crown Estate (an SUV set to be introduced in the U.S. as the Crown Signia), and the conventional Crown sedan.
