Welcome to this (slightly remastered) extra long video of a very enjoyable afternoon at Leeds City Station on the 17th of June 2023.
**This video took an incredible amount of time to put together. It also took several hours to upload to YouTube as it is quite a large file. (and my internet is not the fastest.) It would mean a lot to me if you could support my small channel by liking this video, perhaps subscribing, and submitting a comment - I will do my best to reply to all comments on this video!**
There was a strange absence of TransPennine Express services through the station. his is not at all related to the nationalisation of TPE, but rather, further engineering works on the TransPennine route as part of the TRU scheme. (TransPennine Route Upgrade.) - You might hear the announcements announcing this in one of the clips.
Leeds City Station is the second busiest train station in the UK outside of London. (After Birmingham New Street.) It was as usual, quite busy on the day of travel. Leeds City was formed after an amalgamation of Leeds Wellington Station and Leeds New Station in 1939. The station has been rebuilt twice, once in 1967 when nearby Leeds Central Station closed, and then again in 2002. The station entrance is currently being rebuilt. (again.)
If you make it to the end of the video, you may just see another form of transport!
Thanks for watching,
