Me and some work colleagues visited the Matunuck Oyster Bar. We had the opportunity to learn all about Rhode Island's Oyster Farming Industry by taking a tour of the Matunuck Oyster Farm. Our tour guide, Oliver, was extremely knowledgeable and taught us so much about the industry and oyster farming process. Matunuck Oyster Bar farms their oysters mainly from Potter Pond, which is shallow body of water, conducive to sustainable oyster farming. Oliver walked through the entire process, what makes Matunuck Oysters different from other farms and wild oysters as well as how he likes to eat oysters. Matunuck Oyster Bar is a very popular restaurant located in South Kingstown, RI, which is a sea side community at the foot of the Narragansett Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. After our tour, we ad lunch at the restaurant and tried so many delicious oysters, including cooked Bourbon Oysters that were absolutely delicious! If you like Oysters and happen to visit Rhode Island, Matunuck Oyster Bar is a must visit! Not only is the food fantastic but the views are just spectacular too.
