Fixed the tail wagging. Continued testing the Savonius horizontal axis wind turbine (SHAWT) with 7 different power-plate/tail configurations.Testing the turbine in the pickup truck is a main feature of the video. The results reveal some unexpected but potentially beneficial performance characteristics. This is a unique version of the Savonius wind turbine. The "power plate" and tilting tail mechanism is designed to enhance efficiency and, most importantly, control rotor speed in high winds. The fundamental Savonius turbine does not have any aerodynamic means of controlling rotor speed.
