In this video I review the Seestar S30 All-In-One Smart Telescope. This amazing new product from ZWO is going to bring astrophotography to the masses even more than its predecessor the S50 did, with its smaller size and lower price. I will show you what you get in the box, how to set it up, how to operate it and what sort of images it can produce on galaxies, nebulae, the moon, the planet Jupiter and the sun (with the included solar filter!).

Addendum: Since publishing this video, ZWO has informed me of some exciting new features and there are also a few things I didn’t cover in this video that I should mention…These are summarised below:
1) Make sure to update to the latest version of the SeeStar app on your phone. At the time of writing this is v2.2.0
2) The latest version brings a new “Intelligent Noise Reduction” feature to get better shots straight out of the unit. I will cover this is a future video.
3) The small aperture size of this product enables it to be both portable and affordable. It is well matched to the (also very affordable) sensor used, bringing a great combined capability for such a low price. The framing feature, which I will also cover in a future video, enhances the capability even more, enabling you to create images of targets larger than your sensor’s field of view in a seamless way. Altogether these features make this an ideal product for beginners in astronomy and astrophotography.
4) Scenery mode. Although not for astronomy, I should have demonstrated this feature in my video, and will do so in a future release.
5) There’s going to be a carry case! Although there wasn’t one in the delivery to me, ZWO have informed me that there is going to be one, and they are sending one to me so I can show it to you!
