Enter the magical world of perfumes and essences visiting with me the oldest pharmacy in Europe: the Officina Profumo Farmaceutica of Santa Maria Novella.
Its history dates back to 1221 when the Dominican friars of the adjacent church of Santa Maria Novella began to cultivate plants, herbs and spices for medicinal purposes.
Here you can still buy body care products made with ancient techniques, as the Dominican friars used to do, including the perfume of Queen Catherine de Medici and the favorite liqueur of Lorenzo the Magnificent.
