Adolf Hitler (20 April 1889 -- 30 April 1945) was an Austrian-born German politician. Influenced by the ideas of the politicians Georg von Schönerer and Karl Lüger, he joined a small far-right party, the German Workers' Party (German: Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (NSDAP), which, taking advantage of the bad social conditions after the Great War, seized power over in 1933. Hitler was elected Chancellor of Germany and one year and a half later, he called himself Führer. After eliminated all opposition, Hitler became the dictator of Nazi Germany and begun to re-arming Germany, ready for a new war.
