- This practice of using a cover crop after corn for grain, a small of spring disturbance with a vertical tillage tool (VT) and then drilling the oats/alfalfa has been working great. Everett's limited vertical tillage is very different than the standard practices of removing/baling off most of the armor, chisel plowing, field cultivating and then seeding into a clean/pack seed bed.
