In today’s True Crime Recap, we’ll be looking at the long-standing case of Stephanie Lazarus: a former LAPD Officer who got away with murder for 23 years!

It was the mid-1980s and DNA evidence was inaccessible and the homicide rate was out of control back in Los Angeles. A young woman, Sherri Rasmussen, was murdered in her home in what appeared to be a robbery gone wrong.

It would take 23 years for breakthroughs in DNA evidence to reveal the truth about what really happened to Sherri Rasmussen. The killer was right under their nose the whole time… and all roads were pointing to Stephanie Lazarus.
