The Chinese government introduced the Belt and Road Initiative in 2013, with the aim of strengthening regional connectivity through cooperation with about 65 countries along a network of land and sea routes. Collaboration among these nations hinges on finance, infrastructure and cultural exchange. On the sidelines of the ongoing Summer Davos in the northern Chinese city of Tianjin, Assadullah Zamir, Afghanistan’s Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock explained to CCTVNEWS how the scheme will shape his country and the region, and talked about Kabul’s involvement in it.
