Long before Frodo, Sam, and Gollum traversed the Dead Marshes, there would be the great Battle of Dagorlad, where elves, men, and orcs would find their doom. In the centuries to come, the marshes would expand, swallowing their graves. It would become a treacherous place for many men in the years to come.
