[ Ссылка ]
Hi everyone! This is Top 3D Shop, and in this video, we are going to tell you about the WASP 40100 Clay 3D printer.
Created by the Italian manufacturer WASP, the 40100 Clay is a delta printer which utilizes clay-based mixtures as consumables. The company's engineers replaced the usual FDM extruder with an in-house-designed specialized print head.
In addition to the 3D printer, the basic package includes a five-liter aluminum container for the mixture, a set of Teflon pipes and fasteners, a pressure regulator, and 10 kilograms of the thick Limoges porcelain mixture.
All mixtures are supplied by the manufacturer in the form of a semi-finished product. Before printing, the user needs to prepare the mixture by stirring it while adding water or ethanol. The mixture is fed into the extruder under pressure with the compressor of the required capacity sold separately.
WASP does not limit the user in the choice of software for preparing digital files for printing. Compatible software includes Cura, Slic3r, or Simplify3D.
G-code files are transferred to the printer's memory using an SD card. The printer’s control module is equipped with a monochrome LCD screen and a multi-function knob-button.
The kinematics of the 40100 Clay is housed in a rigid steel frame. This traditional solution reduces vibration and ensures stable, high-quality printing.
Depending on the project requirements, the user can install one of the provided nozzles with a diameter of 2 or 1.2 mm. The printing speed can reach 150 mm/s, with the standard layer thickness of half a millimeter. The printer’s build chamber represents a cylinder with a diameter of 40 cm and a height of 100 cm.
The WASP 40100 Clay is equipped with a power failure recovery system. The manufacturer also provided for an operation shutdown function for short-term manipulations with the printed object right during the printing process.
After the print job is over, the finished parts are placed in a furnace for firing at a temperature of 1,000-1,200 ℃.
The range of materials compatible with the WASP 40100 Clay includes three types of mixtures based on clay: white, red, and Limoges porcelain. The mixes are supplied in packs of 10 or 25 kgs.
The WASP 40100 Clay 3D printer is an excellent tool for sculptors, ceramics designers, and innovative artists. The design of the printer and extruder sets the base for stability and high print quality.
