We're spending a week with the 2022 Cadillac Escalade Sport Platinum 4WD with the Super Cruise Control system to see what life is like if you're in the market for a house, but you bought an SUV instead.
We drove the new generation Cadillac Escalade last year and loved it, and for 2022 GM has gotten their Super Cruise Control system into this vehicle for us to test. This time around we're in the same Sport Platinum trim as we drove before, but finished in the Dark Moon Blue Metallic paint. We also have the onyx package which adds the monochrome exterior Cadillac emblems, black gloss badging, and 22" black gloss rims. The Super Cruise Control package has also been added. We go over the specs and changes for the 2022 Cadillac Escalade.
We then take the 2022 Cadillac Escalade Sport Platinum on a real-world road test to talk about our fuel economy test results along with our impressions on this full size SUV a year after we drove it last. We discuss the ride, comfort, and drive of the Escalade along with the things we'd like to see from this vehicle moving forward. We then go over our thoughts on the updated Super Cruise Control with active lane change, something we tested partially back in 2018 on the Cadillac CT6 Platinum. Our entire driving segment is featured on Autoroute 20 in Québec while using the Super Cruise system.
