This video takes an initial look at what a percentage is, finds the similarity to fractions, and show how we can find percentage of amounts, and also percentage increases and decreases, by using the same method as finding fractions. I have often found learners are fearful of approaching percentages because they believe them to be a complicated topic, but by giving a learner one method which works with both percentages and fractions I find those fears can be removed.
