Peles Castle (Roman: Castelul Peleş) is located on the medieval route connecting Transylvania and Wallachia, in a picturesque location in the Carpathians, near the city of Sinaia in Romania. Built in an eclectic spirit from 1873 to 1914; since 1883 it has been used as a royal residence.
The name was given to it by a mountain river flowing nearby. The National Museum of Peles is located on the territory of the former residence.
