Heres a simple instructional video on how to set up the common anchor on smaller boats in a "breakaway" or "snagless" system by moving the chain and adding a cable tie. so when you anchor in a harder place, like rock or big kelp weed, you can easily lift the anchor. It works great in sand as once the anchor is set in, even in tide current, theres no real load trying to break the cable tie.
this system DOES work well, but not to be used for overnight anchoring.
and keep spare cable ties in the boat.
