Vmail, or Victory Mail, was used during WWII to secure correspondence abroad in both the European and Pacific Theaters. The letters were photographed, then the film was sent overseas to be copied and delivered. This created space aboard ships and planes while keeping up morale. News from home reaching the front was vital to the soldiers’ spirits and gave them hope.
