There were so many television and radio news reports in the 1950s showing people who had seen and even been inside of UFOs – unidentified flying objects – aliens among us. Totally trust worthy when they described what they saw were Air Force pilots and others who witnessed strange occurrences – Close encounters with alien vessels clearly were flying nearby them. And we could see these reports on the news and in photographs. Of course they were always denied by the military and by the government which made us even more suspicious. For me growing up, especially after the Sputnik launched on October 4, 1957 (I'll never forget the date) we knew, as teenagers, that something was going on and it involved outer space and probably aliens. And were several folks in my neighborhood growing up who saw UFOs and seemed believable to me as a kid.When we went to the movies in the late 1950s we could see Hollywood dramatizations of Martians. Some of them were beautiful women wearing scantily clad clothing. And nightly on the news, someone presented something like this clip or a part of it.

I have long been a collector of UFO related films. . These interviews are part of my collection. I used material like this to make my 4 part Turner Broadcasting Series - Aliens Among Us.
