ConvaTec proprietary Hydrofiber® Technology is based on high purity cellulose which is chemically processed into a very specific form of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose. When hydrated, this unique sodium CMC fibre has a rapid rate of gelling, high absorbency and high flow retention and all three of these properties work towards optimal fluid control. Hydrofiber® Technology forms the basis for the world's leading exudate measurement and infection control dressings namely the AQUACEL® family of dressings.
