(2 Aug 1980) The funeral of the former Shah of Iran, Muhammed Reza Pahlevi, who died after a long illness in Egypt, held in Cairo. The Shah's widow and children followed the funeral cortege which was escorted by Egypt's President Anwar Sadat, and former American President Richard Nixon. But no world leader attended the funeral of the man who had ruled Iran for 37 years and went into exile in early 1979
