A few little cooking tips to help you become a better home cook!
Starting with a few basics:
#1: use a damp tea towel or paper towel under your plastic chopping board to prevent it from moving when you’re chopping.
#2: ALWAYS have your fingers tucked when chopping. The blade of the knife should run against your knuckles at all times. Not only will this guide your knife more accurately but it will also protect your fingies.
#3: never use the sharp side of your knife to move things across your chopping board. This will create a super blunt knife over time. Flip the knife and use the flat side.
#4: use a bench scraper to pick things up from your chopping board. It’ll pick up a whole lot more than a knife would which helps streamline your cooking process. If you do use your knife for smaller quantities, again, flip the knife and use the flat side not the sharp blade side.
