A sinister and unprovoked attack by diving instructor, Santi Khokpool is featured in this video. The near fatal incident occurred in the Fishbowl Beach Bar on Sairee Beach on 15 August 2020 in front of many witnesses. Santi is the strongman at Ban's Diving Resort on Koh Tao and is well connected with the police and other dangerous and influential figures on the island.
Koh Tao murders & violent assaults continue as a feature of Death Island in the Gulf of Thailand – as do the cover-ups. It is not a safe holiday destination for unwary tourists.
Two of the most high profile murders were those of Hannah Witheridge and David Miller on 15 September 2014 but they were unfortunately just two of many.
When one London teen was drugged, robbed and raped in 2018 the Thai authorities went out of their way to discredit her report, rather than make any attempt to solve the crimes.
It is all about “saving face”, shooting the proverbial messengers and protecting tourism income (in the short term).
