There were speeches in the history of the European Union that have made Europe the way it is today.

Roberta Metsola was elected President of the European Parliament in January 2022.

One month later, Russia invaded Ukraine, and the European Parliament has stood by Ukraine ever since.

At the beginning of April, President Metsola went to the Ukrainian Parliament to deliver a message of hope, recognising the courage of the Ukrainian people and supporting Ukraine’s ambition to join the European Union.
