It's the Chinese New Year. The bell for the Year of the Rooster rang over an hour ago, and at this time, the annual CCTV Spring Festival Gala is drawn to a close after 4 hours on air. The most-watched TV show on the planet featured dancing, singing and comedy sketches to welcome the beginning of the Year of the Rooster. For the past 33 years, it has been a tradition for families across China and around the world to tune in to CCTV's annual Spring Festival Gala, or Chunwan as it's known in Chinese, on the eve of Chinese New Year. This year's gala featured some familiar faces and also a lot of new ones. It also included live performances from studios in Shanghai, Sichuan, Guangxi and Heijongjiang provinces. It has been broadcasting live to 157 countries and regions around the world.
