This is a simple way to test if you are hypermobile.
We use these 5 simple tests in our Physio Clinic on a daily basis and it is easy to do this at home.
The Beighton laxity Score uses a 9 point system over 5 tests
Pinky Passive Extension past 90°
Left = 1 Point
Right = 1 Point
Thumb Passive Mobility to flexor aspect of forearm
Left = 1 Point
Right = 1 Point
Elbow Hyperextension
Left = 1 Point
Right = 1 Point
Full body flexion - Hands flat to floor
Hands Flat to Floor = 1 point
Knee Hyperextension
Left = 1 Point
Right = 1 Point
That's a total of 9 points if you can do them all.
We use the Beighton Hypermobility Score Test in our Inglewood Physio Clinic, Fieldwork Health, to measure how hypermobile a client is.
Why is this important?
People have different pains and problems for different reasons.
We treat each client differently depending on how flexible or inflexible they are because they each need a different unique treatment regime to get them pain-free and back to full health.
