Recently I ordered 10 colors of Panpastel from a local art shop and when i received them, one was broken. I searched everywhere for a way to fix it and wow, so many suggestions and advice!

Some said to mix up the shattered pieces with water, rubbing alcohol, alcohol solution etc. And some said not to add anything especially alcohol as advice by manufacturer themselves.

So, today I tried to just fix it and filmed my steps. While fixing it, i noticed that the powder form of the Panpastel is quite ‘tacky’. So I guessed there are binders and fillers inside, maybe a very slight amount so as to keep the paint as pure as possible. So that’s why the manufacturer adviced not to add anything into broken pieces or you might ‘disturbed’ the properties of the Panpastel.
When compared it with pure pigment powder that I have (for making my own watercolours), the pure pigments are more dry and ‘light’!
