Spanish Air Force (Ejercito del Aire Espanol/EDA) Eurofighter C16 Typhoon from ALA 14, 142 Escuadron based at Los Llanos Airbase, Albacete, displaying on the saturday of the Royal International Air Tattoo 2016. Eurofighter EF2000 Typhoon's are designated by Spain as C16's. Spain is one of the four partner nations involved with the development and production of the Eurofighter. Spanish aircraft are built at Getafe, near Madrid by Airbus Defence & Space. Spain plans for a fleet of 87 Eurofighters and the aircraft is now one of two fighter types serving in the Spanish inventory operating alongside the McDonnell Douglas EF-18 Hornet. Spanish Eurofighters are currently based at two sites in Spain, at Albacete in the east of the country and at Moron near Seville.
