There are some places along the Ohio River, that simply soothe the soul, and are absolutely worth a stop, to breathe-in some peace of mind. Derby, Indiana is one of those places.
Settled in 1835, Derby, Indiana was named after Derby, Ireland. While it’s uncertain, who came up with the name, it’s likely that European settlers, moving to Indiana Territory, in the 1800’s, named small towns after those they remembered back home.
If you’re driving along 66, take a moment to stop and walk to the marina, letting the breeze float across the water, and into your memories.
