Eccentric calf raises are a common exercise provided to patients to help in the rehabilitation from Achilles tendinitis.
It is really important to improve the load capacity of the tendon, this exercise also helps with the remodelling process.
Often you can provide an exercise and the technique can vary once performing the exercise at home. This is a simple video to demonstrate what we are looking for from an eccentric calf raise.
With any rehabilitation program remember consistency is key. Don’t expect to see results over night! Remember tendons have a slow turnover and take time!
