Astral Foods have seen a revenue increase of just a mere 3 per cent as it suffers from the price increase of raw materials for its feed as well as the increase in competition with Brazil and USA frozen chicken imports. With a knock to Operating profits down by 51 per cent and Headline earnings per share decreasing by 52 per cent, this raises the question of the state of the South African poultry industry.
