Myanmar, or mostly known as Burma, is a country that famous of their pagodas and the fact that they are still holding on with their culture is something that I adore about the country itself. And it is also interesting to see the local people wear longyi (a wraparound skirt), worn by men and women. If you're wandering what's that white thing on their face? It's called Thanaka cream. Local people use it as their cosmetic beauty as they believe that it could protect their face from sunburn and acne.
I didn't get enough time to travel all of my destinations, so I ended up went to Yangon, Bagan, and Inle Lake. Yangon used to be their capital city until they changed it to Naypyidaw back in 2005. So Yangon is more developing than Bagan and Inle Lake. One of the famous pagoda in Yangon called Shwedagon Pagoda. Shwedagon Pagoda has an interesting history and I was truly stunned by the beauty of the golden stupas including all of the architectures inside the complex. Beside that it is claim to be one of the oldest Buddhist stupa in the world.
Moving on from Yangon to Bagan, you will feel the differences of this two cities. Bagan is known as the land of stupas, since there are 2229 temples and pagodas remaining till now. Basically we could go to every stupas and climb till the top to see the sunrise and sunset by renting a bike or electric motorcycle. One of my highlight from this trip is to see the sunrise from Bagan. The beautiful landscapes during sunrise and we could see the hot air balloons are rising to the sky.
My last stop from this trip was Inle Lake. Inle Lake is very famous of their fisherman and also their beautiful landscape. We could rent a boat for a full day for sightseeing and see the local fishermen fishing with their unique technique. My last highlight from this trip was to met the LONG NECK WOMEN. Yes, I was really excited to see them in real life :D. By renting the boat we could also go to their village and see the process of how they weaving their traditional skirt.
