Hello neighbors. Welcome back. I'm Steven here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at this Timbren Suspension Enhancement System. This is for a Severe Service - Rear Axle. So that just simply means it's a very heavy duty suspension system.
Now, always check our Fit Guide at etrailer.com. Go to the top center of our page where it says My Vehicle. It's usually in yellow. And enter your year, make, and model. You may have to enter your truck bed length, cab size, that kind of stuff, and then it'll tell you exactly what these guys here fit or any part that we have fits.
Now I can tell you that basically these fit a, all the way back from 1988 through 2010, different combinations of either the GMC Sierra, the Silverado Classic, New Body, Cabin Chassis, that kind of stuff. But, again, check our Fit Guide, make sure you're getting the right part the first time. Now diving into the Timbren Suspension System. So why would you need this Why would you want this Well, quite frankly, it's gonna improve suspension, your handling, and the safety overall while you're traveling. Now this particular set is ideal for a truck with maybe like a sliding camper or an in-bed salt spreader.
So super heavy load that's gonna be on the bed constant or for a long period of time. Now what these do is they provide additional support whenever you need it so that you always have a smooth, comfortable ride. So these will allow the leaf spring ample movement, but it also cushions the light loads. And then, at the same time, this rubber and everything becomes more rigid as more weight is added. So this whole Aeon bounce stopper here, as we call it, or a hollow rubber spring, and you can see it on the bottom, it's hollow, this will compress, and again, the more weight, it's gonna compress a little more and just keeps that constant smooth ride for you.
Now, again, as I mentioned, they're great for suspension. They also do actually increase stability as well. They do provide a very great performance when you're hauling, again, those heavy loads. So they help reduce sag. They do work independently, side to side, and they're also gonna help compensate for maybe like those off-center loads, again, such as like an in-bed camper where maybe one side's got all your kitchen stuff or whatnot. It's a little heavier maybe. And the other side, not so much. Now I'm gonna zoom in here so you can get a better picture while I'm still talking about 'em, but, again, they will reduce body roll as well. So when you're swerving or turning corners, that kind of stuff, they will act as shock absorbers and then take a lot of the bumps, rough roads, and the cornering. Now these technically will extend the life of your vehicle's factory suspension because, again, it's helping them. It's not putting as much strain on 'em and that kind of stuff. Now I've got these loosely put together. You can kind of see they're a little offset from center. That's because they're gonna be mounted right up smack dab to the side of the frame. You're gonna get two Aeon rubber springs. So, again, it's hollow down there. It's got the bolt, again, loosely fitted here just for demonstration purposes. And these, again, are vehicle specific, and you get all the hardware for this. And you can see the hardware before me. You may not need all the hardware on one vehicle. Again, check the included instructions. Make sure you're following those instructions to make sure you get 'em installed correctly the first time. Now these, what they will do is they will replace your current axle bump stop that you already have on your frame of your vehicle. You don't have to worry about drilling because this is just going into the same place as the other one. And as far as mounting the brackets, see I told you it was loosely put together, as far as mounting the brackets, the holes here are already here. Again, they mount up to the frame where there's already holes in the frame. And then you'll just simply use the included hardware to install that. Well, since I got it apart, so you can see the different pieces here. There's a thin puck there. Again, you may or may not need that one depending on the vehicle. And, again, the Aeon rubber hollow spring, and this particular guy, I put the long bolt in. So, again, depending on your vehicle, that will determine what combination you use here. Now the capacity of these guys is 8,000 pounds. And keep in mind, don't exceed your vehicle's weight carrying capacity. Always, you know, stay at what t
