This is a quick tutorial teaching how to stain a butcher's block countertop.
Professional recommendation: Use a first coat of polyurethane, or wood sealer before the first coat of stain. It is not really necessary, but it is a great suggestion. Depending on the quality of the wood if you don't first seal it, it might eventually bow.
