STORYLINE:
The chokehold death of Eric Garner has made many New Yorkers, especially those in minority communities, wary over interactions with police.
Benjamin B. Tucker, the NYPD's (New York City Police Department) First Deputy Police Commissioner, said the Garner death had spurred them to take action, and a massive retraining of NYPD officers was now under way.
Part of that training is a three-day refresher course aimed at discouraging verbal abuse and needless physical force.
