PRACTICE TIPS
It might help your understanding of this piece to note that the translation of the title is "ALARM".
Start by practicing this piece from bar 10-26 with a metronome observing at a comfortable pace all the articulation marks and dynamics written, from your first slow attempt. It will be too difficult to relearn all these details when up to speed. For the purposes of examination, only go as fast as you can control. As mentioned in the ABRSM edition, although the metronome mark is 144, a slower mark of 112 would be acceptable in an exam. Indeed you will get a better mark for a tidy, slightly slower performance, than a fast messy one.
Another problem may occur trying to make the semiquavers (sixteenth notes) even at speed. You could try these passages practicing with a dotted rhythm - long short long short, then reversing it starting on the shorter note.
Bars 28-31 also pose a challenge, not only because the LH plays on top of the RH, but also because you need to take care of the articulation of lower RH staccato notes whilst always holding the top G its full length in every bar.
