According to the most recent Times Now updates, the Central Government has banned the Popular Front of India (PFI) for five years with immediate effect. The Indian government has declared the Popular Front of India (PFI) and any of its affiliates illegal, citing terror activities.
Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai discusses the PFI ban with Times Now. He said, "The PFI ban is welcome in the country. They were trying to disturb the peace in the country and were funded by organisations outside the country. There was a demand to ban the PFI across the country and now the centres have banned it.'
This comes a day after police conducted ED and NIA raids and detained more PFI activists in several states. Thirty people were detained in the National Capital, Delhi, following raids in Nizamuddin, Rohini district, and Shaheen Bagh. The suspects were planning a large-scale violent protest across the city as well as a nationwide protest, according to the Delhi Police.
