Instructions on how to set the router bit depth, how to cut the inlay, and how to remove the template.
To route out an inlay prepare the plunge router by taking the bushing off the brass inlay kit and setting the depth of plunge to cut all the way through the inlay material.
After preparing the inlay material, affix the template to the inlay material, and clamp the entire assembly to a workbench so nothing but the router moves during the cutting process.
To cut an inlay position the router inside the shape of the template being used with the bearing pressed against the side of the template. Keeping the bearing in constant contact with the template wall, turn on the router and plunge it into the material. Guide the router around the shape keeping the bearing in constant contact with the template wall.
After completing the routing process pry the template off the inlay material using a paint scraper. Finally remove the inlay piece from the backing material using a pic. Mark the inlay so you know what piece it is. It helps to keep track of what piece goes where and shows you which side is face up.
