Montenegro went to the polls on Sunday (19/09) to elect a new
president in a second and final election round. They have to
choose between an independent-minded opponent of Yugoslav
President Slobodan Milosevic and a long-time ally of the
strongman.
The present Prime Minister, 35 year old Milo Djukanovic, is
considered a young pro-western oriented reformist who heavily
criticized President Slobodan Milosevic for his undemocratic rule.
