NIFT entrance exam is a national level test that is conducted by National Institute of Fashion Technology for admissions to Bachelor of Design and Bachelor of Fashion Technology programmes offered across 16 NIFT campuses across India. There are a total of 2370 seats including 2010 seats for B. Design programme and 360 seats for Bachelor of Fashion Technology programme.
NIFT 2018, a pen and paper-based admission test, was held on January 21 for admissions across 16 campuses of the institute located in Chennai, New Delhi, Gandhinagar, Bhopal, Jodhpur, Kangra, Bhubaneshwar, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kannur, Raebareli, Shillong, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Patna, and Srinagar. Candidates seeking admissions to NIFT B.Des programme have to appear for Creative Ability Test (CAT) as well as General Ability Test (GAT). Shortlisted candidates were required to take the Situation Test in April-May 2018. For admission to B.F.Tech programme, candidates had to take GAT alone.
