Microphone splitters!! I hate capitalism but I do love an unboxing video. This is the @radialengineering JS2 Microphone Splitter. They make a more budget friendly option, as well as line splitters too. This video is not sponsored, I just really love this thing!

It solves a pretty specific and niche problem I was having planning for live shows. Basically when you’re live looping you want your looping device (in my case @Ableton ) to catch your vocals from your mic 🎤 . Then you can send the whole mix 💿 from your looping device on to the house’s mix. But what if your mix has the vocals too low and the audience can’t hear you singing? Then you’re kinda screwed. You could always turn it up in your mix but it’s hard to know exactly what will sound good for the audience when you’re on stage.

I’ve seen a few different solutions for this, maybe the most common is to have a second mic for looping separate from your main vocal mic. But this way I can take my vocals and send them to TWO (even 3 if I wanted) places - one to the front of house sound engineer and one to my interface for looping! Brilliant 👏
