Soccer star Paul Pogba’s older brother, Mathias, testified in a Paris court on Tuesday (December 3) in an extortion case that has made waves in French football.

Mathias Pogba and five other defendants are accused of attempting to squeeze 13 million euros ($13.5 million) while blackmailing the former Juventus midfielder.

Mathias posted a video on social media in 2022 promising to reveal explosive personal information about Paul.

Pogba’s lawyers had said the video followed threats and attempts at extortion propagated by what they called a "criminal gang."

Paul Pogba accused childhood friends of snatching him and leading him to a place where he was held at gunpoint by two men.

The men accused in the trial deny the allegations.

A verdict is expected later in the week.
