Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Monday praised the state’s "double engine government" for its success in weakening the Naxal insurgency through coordinated efforts. Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, Sai highlighted a recent operation where security forces killed 31 Naxals in a series of encounters, marking a significant achievement in the state's ongoing battle against left-wing extremism.
"Our security forces have achieved a major success. They neutralised 31 Naxals in recent encounters, and I extend my congratulations to them for this commendable work," said Sai. He further emphasised the state's commitment to eradicating Naxalism since the government came to power, underscoring the importance of these operations in restoring peace and development to the region.
Sai was in Delhi to participate in a review meeting on the security situation in Naxal-affected areas. The meeting, chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, brought together the chief ministers and senior officials from insurgency-hit states. The discussions focused on anti-Naxal operations and the developmental initiatives being implemented in these regions to undermine extremist influence.
The high-level meeting followed one of the most successful anti-Naxal operations in recent times, during which security forces in Chhattisgarh neutralised 31 Naxalites, marking a significant blow to the insurgent groups. The Chhattisgarh government, in collaboration with the Centre, has been intensifying both security measures and development efforts in the state's Naxal-affected areas, aiming for long-term peace and prosperity.
