Flush coolant/antifreeze from your engine and radiator. Easy. Use your garden hose to create pressure and flush engine as well as radiator – forwards and backwards. Keep your radiator, heater core, and engine clean. Flushing your coolant is good for the cooling system to prevent rust and to stop your car from overheating.

Step by step:
1) Locate the petcock valve underneath the radiator
2) Place a drain pan underneath the valve
3) Drain coolant from radiator
4) Remove thermostat, but reattach housing and hoses

5) Remove the hoses leading to and from the radiator
6) Cover your alternator, spark plugs and electrical connectors so they don’t get wet
7) Use garden hose to flush engine – forwards and backwards
8) Use garden hose to flush radiator – forwards and backwards
9) Put everything back in place (don’t forget thermostat)
10) Fill up with coolant (50/50 mix) and deionized water
11) Go for a test drive
