Hello everyone. Welcome back to the Cliff Pickleball YouTube channel. In this video, I'll present the beginner guide to the Pickleball Backhand Roll. Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in the country.

A backhand roll in pickleball, also called backhand flick, is typically a dink volley that uses speed, spin, and power to catch an opponent off-guard. Used in dink rallies, the shot borrows techniques used in table tennis to achieve a topspin effect on the ball that's challenging to return.

The backhand roll is taken from a shot in the non-volley zone that comes in at about net height. It’s best used when the ball isn’t high enough for an overhead smash onto your opponent’s side of the court.
