**Our greatest watch yet and a milestone in British watchmaking history**.
Our new Dunkirk Watch is a Swiss-Made bronze nautical watch made in collaboration with a London Fire Brigade Fire Boat (The Massey Shaw) that saved over 600 lives off the beaches of Dunkirk in World War II. The watch has a genuine piece of the boat engine used in the Dunkirk Evacuation, named Operation Dynamo, in the 1940's displayed in the back of the watch. The Massey Shaw Boat was sailed by 13 brave crew across the channel four times into the helm of Dunkirk alongside 850 other Little Ships, to sway the war in favour of the allied forces against the Nazi war machine. The watch dial is inspired by the telegraph found in the wheelhouse of the Massey Shaw used by the Captain on the bridge to order engineers in the engine room to power the vessel. We have created one of the most unique case constructions in the industry with red engine rooms pipes displayed in the Massey Shaw Boat wrapped about the bronze nautical case. The back of our Dunkirk Watch watch depicts the famous Operation Dynamo scene with a real piece of the Massey Shaw engine used in Operation Dynamo from the 1940's, machine cut into the shape of the Massey Shaw Boat in the caseback. The watch features the most accurate Swiss-Made movement we have ever used, the Sellita SW200 Top Grade Premium Movement, one grading down from their highest certified chronometer movement. The straps of our Dunkirk Watch are made from upcycled firefighter jackets and trousers worn in real fires by UK Fire & Rescue Service.
Every customer who purchases a Dunkirk Watch will have their name engraved onto a plaque placed onto the Massey Shaw Boat for her channel crossing in 2025 with the original Little Ships to mark the 80th year anniversary of World War II ending, making you a real piece of WWII history. William Wood Watches have donated £10,000 GBP to the Massey Shaw Partnership Trust to help refurbish the Massey Show engine for her journey in 2025.
