Dr. Rohit Sangal, an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine, and Dr. Ted Melnick, an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine, both at Yale University in New Haven, CT, share insights into their article appearing in the September 2023 issue of Mayo Clinic Proceedings, where they review two technological intervention programs they developed to enhance the electronic health record so that it could provide clinically applicable and up-to-date decision making information available at the point of care. They found these add-ons better supported the “5 rights” as actionable: delivery of the right information to the right person in the right format through the right channel and at the right time in the workflow.
