In this YouTube video, the host dissects two types of in-ear monitors, specifically balanced armature and dynamic in-ear monitors. He shows the internal components of the devices, including the armatures, high-frequency drivers and the little metal plug. He notes that armatures are available in different qualities and types and can potentially be used to make miniature speakers, microphones or other devices. Additionally, he explains how to determine if the polarity of the headphones is correct and how to fix it.
In this video I open up and discuss the guts of two in-ears monitors. One has a conventional round voice coil driver and the other is a balanced armature based in-ear.
