The Vatican has issued another warning of a new schism from Germany coming out of the Synodal Way. "The Synodal Way in Germany does not have the power to compel bishops and the faithful to adopt new forms of governance and new orientations of doctrine and morals,” the Vatican said in an official statement published in Italian and German on Thursday. Editor in Chief of CNA Deutsch, AC Wimmer, joins to share why he thinks the Holy See issued this warning now. Wimmer tells us how Church leaders in Germany are reacting to the statement. He discusses what the reaction was of the faithful in Germany. The Holy Father began warning of the lack of unity with the Church in Germany back in 2019. Wimmer talks about that. Pope Francis is not the only one who thinks the Synodal Way is likely to cause a schism. Back in April, over 100 cardinals and bishops wrote a letter expressing the same concerns. The editor in chief of CNA Deutsch fills us in on this and what else he is following.
